Three Ttraditional houses in Chromonastiri
The first house is located on a plot of 89,47sq.m. with basement of 35,01sq.m. and ground floor of 35,01sq.m. There is a cellar with a room over the dome and an old oven as well with a “raki” boiler. The second house is located on a plot of 216,01sq.m. with ground floor of 33,97sq.m. On the second one you can see Venetian and Osmanlian lineaments, as well as a Turkish bath that needs renovation. The traditional hamlet of Chromonastiri is 11km (6,8miles) away from the city of Rethymno . It is a beautiful dorp, built at the roots of the mountain Vrisina and has population of 358. There are buildings with Venetian lineaments all around the village, but the most important is the famed “Villa Clodio”, a magnificent mansion that has been reconstructed and accommodates the army museum. Near Chromonastiri, you can see the “Panagia Kera”, an illustrated Byzantine church that has a cross shame with cupola, that is aged from the 11 th century A.D. To the location “Perdiki Metohi” you see “Agios Eftychios” , another important church aged from the 11 th century as well. Chromonastiri, won the 1 st prize from the prefectorial government of Rethymno, in the 2007, for being the most organized hamlet of the whole province of Rethymno.
